Terms of Use
1. Definitions
PRIMARY refers to the project “New business for farmers and cooperatives in rural areas by local upcycling solutions using underutilized agricultural feedstocks” funded under Grant Agreement 101180167, which addresses the topic HORIZON-CL6-2024-CIRCBIO-02.
Consortium refers to all signatories of Grant Agreement 101180167, coordinated by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd, which may have single or joint intellectual property rights in relation to the project outcomes.
Materials refers to all information, content, data, documents (including publications, practice abstracts, reports, presentations, templates, etc.), downloads, files, text, images, photographs, graphics, videos, publications, tools, resources, software, applications, and products made available via PRIMARY project website www.primary-project.eu (the “Website”).
Website manager refers to Civitta Foundation (“CIVITTA”), the entity responsible for technical management and operation of the Website on behalf of the PRIMARY Consortium. While CIVITTA manages the technical aspects of the Website, the Data Controller for all data processing activities remains the PRIMARY Consortium.
You refers to the visitor or user of our Website.
2. Scope
These Terms of Use govern your access to, and use of the Website and all Materials provided through it. By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy (link). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Website.
3. Your use of the Website
You agree to use the Website and its Materials only for purposes that are permitted by these Terms of Use and any applicable law, regulation, or generally accepted practices.
You specifically agree not to access (or attempt to access) any Materials through automated means (including scripts or web crawlers), hacking, password mining, or other unauthorised means. You agree not to engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the Website or its connected servers and networks.
You may view, download for personal use, and print Materials from the Website for your own personal, educational, or research purposes, subject to the restrictions set out in these Terms of Use.

Some visual materials including images and illustrations are sourced from third-party providers such as Freepik and other free-use platforms, and remain subject to their respective licensing terms. All such rights are reserved.
The Consortium grants users permission to copy, download, and print Materials from this Website solely for personal, educational, or research purposes, provided that:
- All intellectual property notices and disclaimers are maintained
- Materials are not modified or altered
- Use remains non-commercial unless explicitly permitted
- Proper attribution is given to the PRIMARY project and, where applicable, to third-party content providers
Specific restrictions:
- The PRIMARY project logo may not be used or reproduced without prior written consent from the Consortium
- Publications and research outputs may be subject to additional licensing terms as specified
- Practice Abstracts and educational materials may be shared in accordance with EIP-AGRI common format guidelines
- Third-party visual materials (including those from Freepik) are subject to their original licensing terms and attribution requirements
- Any commercial use of Materials requires express written permission
User-Generated Content: Any content you submit to the Website remains your property, but you grant the Consortium a non-exclusive licence to use such content for project purposes.
5. Trademarks, trade names and logos
All trademarks, trade names, and logos appearing on the Website are the property of their respective owners and are protected by international copyright and trademark laws. This includes:
- The PRIMARY project logo and branding
- European Union and Horizon Europe logos
- Partner organisation logos and trademarks
- Third-party service provider marks
You agree not to use any trademarks, trade names, or logos without express written consent from their respective owners.
6. Licence to you
The Consortium grants you a personal, worldwide, non-assignable, royalty-free, and non-exclusive licence to use the Website and Materials solely for personal, educational, or research purposes as permitted by these Terms of Use.
You may not:
- Assign or sublicense your rights to use the Website or Materials
- Create derivative works based on the Website or Materials without permission
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Grant security interests in your rights to use the Website
- Transfer your rights to third parties without written permission
7. Links to other websites
The Website contains links to external websites operated by third parties, including partner organisations, the European Commission, and other research projects. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of use of these external sites. 8. Stakeholder platform and user accounts
If you register for the Stakeholder Platform:
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must provide accurate and current information
- You agree to use the platform in accordance with its community guidelines
- You understand that the platform is integrated with the European Rural Bioeconomy Network (ERBN)
- You consent to your professional information being visible to other platform users as specified during registration
9. Open Call and third-party applications
PRIMARY’s Open Call applications are processed through an external platform at https://opencalls.fund. The process is managed by reframe.food (RFF). PRIMARY’s Website does not collect or process your application data. This is handled entirely by the external platform under their own privacy policy. For questions about data processing during applications, please contact the opencalls.fund platform directly. PRIMARY’s role is limited to providing information about the OC opportunities and directing applicants to the external platform. We may collect anonymised statistics on how many times Open Call related materials are downloaded from our website for project reporting purposes.
10. Changes to terms of use
The Website Manager reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Modifications will be effective upon posting to the Website with an updated “last updated” date. Your continued use of the Website after modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to modified terms, you should discontinue use of the Website.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Website Manager and Consortium members shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use the Website
- Any errors, failures, or delays in the Website operation
- Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
- Third-party content or links provided on the Website
- Any interruption or cessation of the Website services
This limitation applies regardless of whether the damages arise from contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The Website and Materials are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. The Consortium disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Estonia and the European Union, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from the use of this Website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tallinn, Estonia.
15. General provisions
Severability: If any provision of these Terms of Use is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Entire agreement: These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Consortium regarding the Website.
