Factsheet: Cotton byproduct valorisation - From field waste to high-value bio-resources
In Karditsa, Greece, PRIMARY is turning cotton stalks, branches, and hulls — currently burned or left in fields — into biomass pellets, biochar, construction materials, and microbial protein.
Factsheet: Grass biorefinery - Transforming Northern grasslands into high-value bio-products
Grass growing across Finland's 800,000 hectares of farmland holds untapped potential beyond animal feed. PRIMARY is demonstrating how it can be fractionated into food-grade protein, fibre materials, and bioenergy through a cascading biorefinery approach.
Factsheet: Greenhouse byproduct valorisation - Circular solutions for modern agriculture
PRIMARY is demonstrating how tomato and cucumber trimmings from greenhouses in Greece and Finland can be transformed into protein-rich feed ingredients and bio-based packaging materials through fermentation and foam-forming technology.
Factsheet: Olive tree prunings valorisation - Sustainable bio-economies in the Mediterranean
In Heraklion, Crete, PRIMARY is collecting approximately 50 tons of olive tree prunings annually and converting them into renewable energy, biochar for soil improvement, and bio-based materials.
